From M. Scott Burgess comes a new episodic book-series that reimagines and redefines the zombie apocalypse genre.
In the near future, the world has died. With no warning, all technology and communication have inexplicably shut down and zombies have begun to rise. They feed on the living, pulling more to their ranks as they spread at an impossible rate.
But hope survives, as a small band of survivors work together to escape from Southern California in hopes of finding sanctuary from this zombie-infested world. Their goal is to find some remnants of civilization but the farther they venture, the more they become aware that the world as they know it has been forever lost.
What they don’t realize is that there are things hiding in the shadows, things that are far worse than zombies.
Zombie Sickenss is the second episode in the series. It follows the story of Kai Ward, an EMT who witnesses the outbreak firsthand and picks up where Dean's story left off in Dead Solstice. (20,495 words)
The Plague Zombie Sickness Episode 2 eBook M Scott Burgess
I enjoyed part 1 of "The Plague" series but part 2 is even better. For one thing, part 2 was about twice as long as part 1 so more value for my 99 cents. The storyline is more cohesive and character development is better in this 2nd part, too.
Editing still needs to be worked on - proofreading errors, awkward phrasing - but the story is strong enough to hold up against these problems.
Part 2 starts out telling the story of Kai Ward and Craig Friedman, who are EMTs trying to keep up with the sudden onslaught of new Zombie Sickness cases, as it's being called. Kai ends up rescuing Irene and her daughter, Cece and they end up meeting with the crew from part 1 and the adventures continue. We see that the zombies aren't the only bad guys.
Oh, and I love the cover art on this series so far. Ooey, gooey, gory!!
Now on to The Plague: A Man in the Darkness (Episode 3).

The Plague Zombie Sickness Episode 2 eBook M Scott Burgess Reviews
This book keeps getting better. The new characters that were added, gave the story an added bonus and kept my interest peaking! There are still some unanswered questions...can't wait to find out what the answers are!
This book series sends shivers down your spine! Well written, fast moving and gripping! A good writer who knows how to get your attention and keep it, with good characters. What more can I say.
Short hour or so of reading. But the layers are starting to get good. And not everything is what it seems. Recommended
Well, part two picks up where part one left off but not with the original group of characters...oh don't worry they are still there. The story opens up with our new character waking up on the ground next to his crashed amulance. It doesn't take long for zombies to show up and since our guy doesn't know whats happening he's in danger of becoming lunch. Like the first book this is a quick story and it leaves you wanting more so I hope book three is coming out soon. I recommend this book!
Excellent second part of the story and I can't wait for more! I wasnt able to put it down. I wish I had the full book right now. I liked how detailed it was and the new characters added into the story. I don't want to ruin the story for anyone but I wish they would have stayed near the house on the island longer to search for you know who. ) Also loved the hotel part and the details of everything else and I hope you continue the story of Irene and Ava. I can't wait for Oct. 14 for the 3rd one.
This is my second time reading g this book, it's a long time and I will read all the books again
This second installment in a planned 14 continues off from the events of the first book but this time follow Kai, an EMT who witnesses the events of the zombie appocalypse. We also are introduced to some other new characters that appear to be seen in further installments.
So after reading two of these so far it appears the short episodes will work in focusing on a diffent set of characters all related to in some way though. I'm assuming we'll see all of this unfold as they are released.
I only have two issued with this book and one for the series all together.
One the number of typos is terrible and with how short this book is that is unexcusable.
Two the sub title of this installment, Zombie Sickness, is terrible.
And then for the series to be running 14 short episodes and each running for 99 cents each, I dont see myself continuing too far into this series if I keep seeing the same results.
